INTERNET EVENTS

• ARPANET shut down permanently.

• ARPA which had created ARPANET, lived on under new name Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

• Tim Berners-Lee invented an internet feature called the World Wide Web (WWW), creating Web Pages and a unified way to connect these documents by using underlined hyperlinks.

• The first crude browser was to view these documents.
