Question

Am I the only person who is no longer receiving WebNotify emails from twiki.org ? It's been about two or three weeks now since I noticed they were not coming through.

I've checked the spam folders, not there. I've checked the email address, still works. And I've checked WebNotify, I'm still subscribed.

Last thing to do was ask if I'm the only one who is not receiving the messages .. ?

TWiki's notify gets the email adressses from the .htaccess file (I think). Is your email correct in this file?

We have a known e-mail problem on twiki.org after upgrading to TWiki 4.1. The notify script runs for more than an hour, but only a few people get the notification e-mails. We have not yet found what causes this bug.

Three months later and I still don't receive the WebNotify mails. Has a bug report been opened, is anybody looking into this ?

I think it reflects negatively on the application if our very own twiki.org is not working correctly.

Yes, it's been reported. I don't get them either. It's due to a dependency in the core on the TWikiUsers topic, which on t.o is hacked, and is only a partial list of the registered users. The core is fixed, and has been for some time.

Yes, and we can't upgrade to 4.1.2 because of Bugs:Item3727.

s/hacked/modified/. TWiki.org has over 29K users. The Main.TWikiUsers was refactored out into several Main.TWikiUsersXtoY topics to reduce the load on the server and to avoid killing a browser by loading a page with 29K bullets. Prior to TWiki 4 it was working OK, TWiki 4 had some code refactoring that required all users to be listed in Main.TWikiUsers, even if the login to user mapping was turned off.

It looks like my WebNotify mails from twiki.org have just recently started arriving again. Did something on the server change ?

Yes, we moved the server to a new location, upgraded TWiki to 4.2.2 and fixed all DNS and reverse DNS. See NewTWikiOrgServer2008.
