Question
The possibility to use Forms to define settings seems to be broken (or simply vanished) in twiki4.
How it worked in Cairo:
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/TWiki03/TWikiForms#Using_Forms_For_Settings
Form Attribute "S" is not respected at all in dakar code.

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
I researched this, and it appears that the feature was removed; see
HiddenTopicSpecificSettings for the discussion.

Oops, we did not follow our deprecation policy. Georg, could you let us know how this spec change impacts you? Can you live with the hidden topic setting instead?

It prevents us from upgrading to twiki4.
We have a complete web which is dedicated to structure some data. Keywords are saved in forms (to enable automated creation with html-forms and provide a good search interface) and then used inside the topic itself as parameters for a custom plugin as well as in searches.
While FORMFIELD{fieldname} works in conjunction with calling the custom plugin, it does not work with the SEARCH{...}: Using a preference variable as search pattern works, using FORMFIELD{fieldname} as a search pattern does not work.
Thus we are not able to upgrade this web to twiki4 (indeed, we upgraded our whole twiki to twiki4, but then backported this dedicated web to an newbuilt twiki instance running cairo when facing the vanished feature).
