Question

  • I want to separate the topic content from the comments/discussions.
  • Therefore, I have created a new web called "Discussion".
  • I have created the file viewtopicactionbuttons.myskin.tmpl and added my code in order to get a new action button called "Discussion".
  • If the user clicks this button a new topic within the web "Discussion" is created and saved. The user can use the comment box in order to add a comment.
  • Every time somebody comes to this topic the view script is used instead of the save script.
  • That works fine but now I have some questions:
    • Is "viewtopicactionbuttons.myskin.tmpl" the correct place? What will happen when I install another plugin that adds another action button to viewtopicactionbuttons.pattern.tmpl?
    • I would like to create a plugin for the discussion functionality as soon as it works correctly. Do you think other people might need it? Would it be hard to create such a plugin?
