Question
I think I installed the
TagMePlugin but it does not show up in the
InstalledPlugins topic. It does show up checked off in the configure script.
What is really needed here, as is the case with most of the plugins, are complete instructions on how to install them that do not assume the user understands anything about twiki installation.
I downloaded the .tgz file and extracted into the twiki installation directory. I chowned the files to be the correct user and group and setgid for the directories, chmodded the files to 755.
I went to the configure script and checked off the box, then submitted the page. OK so far.
I don't understand what the installation instructions are talking about vis a vis the plugin settings.
Of course I want the tags interface on every page, so I edited the
TWikiPreferences topic to include a line that says
* Set SKIN = tagme,pattern
When I go to the topic
TagMeCreateNewTag it does not parse our the TAGME stuff...I see:
Create a new tag - then add it to a topic.
%TAGME{ tpaction="nop" tag="" note="" }%
I have double checked the file permissions to make sure they are read/writeable by the web user.
I have restarted apache several times (I am running mod_perl)
Also, I notice on the Plugin topic page itself, on my site, I see different instructions that what is on the twiki site. I see stuff like this in the instructions for how to add tags to the top of every page:
This template is in fact a 'skin' template. To enable it, write in %USERSWEB%.TWikiPreferences?:
* Set SKIN = tagme,pattern
In other words, USERSWEB is not being interpreted into "Main" like it is on the twiki site.
I'm sorry to sound negative...it is just so frustrating I wish I had never installed twiki and had used some other wiki product because this thing is so hard to get working.
TWiki Version Info:
* TWiki engine: Tue, 04 Jul 2006 build 10807
* Plugin API: 1.1
