Question
I have been having issues getting this plugin to work. I noticed the other day that using the same laptop, it works when I am offsite from my company and does not work when I am onsite. One of the major differences is that onsite my company uses a proxy server. Don't know if that is the contributing difference or not but something that differences between here and there is.
The symptoms are as follows.
on site, I can see the drawing on my twiki page. I click on the drawing it redirects me to the edit page, wait a second and a java application pop's up showing the drawing at the original version 1. I can hit the refresh button but nothing happens. I can then go home and modify the drawing, I can see the current drawing onsite on the twiki page but when I go to edit the drawing, I am always shown the original drawing in the java application.
When I am off site, not using the proxy server (and who knows what else our company is using) everything works great
How do I start to trouble shoot this issue?
Thanks!

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
It sounds like your browser is cacheing the drawing. Try clearing the browser cache before re-editing the drawing. Did that help?

My users often gave a similar problem and the cure has always been to update the Java run time. There are a few 1.4 versions that never works well with this plugin. You should try updating the JRE.

I have used the Firefox "Clear Cache Now" function and still have this issue.
Using Java version 1.5

You probably need to specify the proxy server settings directly if they for some reason can't be correctly read from the browser configuration when you are onsite.
This is done in Control Panel -> Java Control Panel -> Network Settings -> Use proxy server -> Fill in correct values.
(You need to talk to your network admin on which values to use).
Sometimes the problem is simply "reverted" - and you need to choose "Direct connection" when onsite, as the default proxy server is sometimes not able to communicate with local addresses.
This is just guesswork; your network admin will know how things are setup and will be able to give proper directions.

Thanks for the idea, unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue

Sorry, out of ideas then. Perhaps a tool like
tcpdump or similar can tell the differences in how network traffic looks in the two scenarios (if you want to troubleshoot this further).
