SID-01895: Users are not prompted for login

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 6.0.0 Perl version: 5.8.8
Category: CategoryAuthentication Server OS: CentOS 5.8 Last update: 11 years ago

Hello, I have just installed twiki on a second server and have found a problem which didn't happen on the first server with similar conf.

Users are not prompted for login when accessing pages that require authentication.

Under "Account" in the top right corner which is red in color, "REDIRECT_REMOTE_USER=" is shown in the username field and "Log Out" is shown instead of "Log In".

Seems that it thinks the user has logged in already but don't know what the username is (no matter how many times the "Log Out" button is pressed).

Users can login (for real) only by going directly to DefaultUrlHost/twiki/login.

It happens not matter the users are accessing for the first time or after logout (for real).

P.S. TemplateLogin is chosen for LoginManager.

Discussion and Answer

Problem solved. It was REDIRECT_REMOTE_USER being set as environment variable by another program. Thanks.
