Problems occur when using the WYSIWYG editor with the IE9 browser.
The editor fails to produce the text in WYSIWYG mode and the text area is not writable.
I was able to re-produce this on 4.3.2 and 5.1.1.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Discussion and Answer
Seems to be a known issue. Play around with the compatibility mode. Please report back here so that we can update the docs.

Indeed using compatibility mode works fine
Users need to press ALT then Tools -> compatibility mode. The WYSIWYG editor will then work

I added the following line to httpd.conf to solve the problem
Header set X-UA-Compatible "IE=EmulateIE8"
after sections loading modules (you need to have headers_module modules/mod_headers.so)

This problem just appeared with IE10 and TWiki-5.1.4, first time we have seen it here.
The Compatibility View work around is satisfactory but our user base will hate it.
Nailing httpd.conf to IE8 emulation works well and is transparent to the users but I wonder if it might introduce other problems as IE matures.
Is there any new information on what is changing in IE to cause this problem?

This is likely fixed in the latest
TinyMCE editor. Some needs to update the plugin in TWiki. Sponsored work appreciated.

Putting in the work around, Header set X-UA-Compatible "IE=EmulateIE8", did get the editor to work in 4.3.2, but it broke the downloading of visio attachments in IE.
I was able to fix this problem by adding the following line to the httpd.conf file:
Addtype application/x-visiotech vsd
