Question

I'm wondering if there is a way to restrict the registration of users to a specific domain, such as @school.edu, without having to use ApprovingRegistrations (i.e. someone with a valid @school.edu address could register without manual authorisiation). Or, if not, might it be possible to make it so that anyone with a @school.edu address who relied to an authorization email automatically sent out to them would be added to an "editable" group?

Answer

DevelopBranch (DakarRelease) has support for a plugin callback during registration. There is nothing in Cairo though that can help you.
