Question

When working with inline searches like the one that lists all the AskedQuestions, the search is written something like this: %SEARCH{"[B]ugStatus.*value\=.*[N]ewBug" ...

In my TWiki at work, I've got some pages that use such an inline search. Some of them use [e]nclosed searches, others don't -- but they both work! My question is, why is the first letter [e]nclosed like that? I understand that it's a RegEx term, but I don't know what that means or how it works. (The RegEx instructions given in WebSearch for instance are rather cryptic and in Unix lingo.)

  • TWiki version etc. : applies to all

Thank you very much John! I hadn't found that page myself.
