Question

We are using file: links to run executable programs. Is there some way to pass parameters to the exe through the link?

Answer

That's a bit scary... You can't pass parameters via such links, but you could write a CGI script as a wrapper perhaps, running on a platform that can execute the .exe file or whatever, and pass parameters to the script that then runs the .exe file.
