Question
Is it possible to make a portable copy of the content of a twiki web. Ideally what I would like to be able to do, is make each page that I would like in my portable copy, then run a background script that would create a tarball, be able to take that tarball to a different twiki site and run a background script there, and have all of my original pages show up.
The problem I am trying to solve, is that I am using twiki as a design engine, or a tetrachry of thought (tetrarchy come for GED (Godel Escher Bach) by Douglas R. Hofstadter, which stands for Tangled Hierarchy). Since my target audience does not have access to my webserver (VPN issues, not technical but security (permission to use)). However I can make a "travelling" laptop that I could install twiki on and thus deliver (and redeliver as the source changes) to my target audience. The reason for markin g pages is that, I want to limit what my target audience can see (not just thru twiki since they will own the machine it is running on).
I don't mind doing the work on the background scripts, however I am not a unix guru and having a brittle sample would hepl alot. It looks like I might be able to use meta-fields to mark my pages and some from of grep/find/? to run a directory tree, producing a list of files that could then be tar-balled.
any thoughts appreciated.
thank you
