Question

After creating a topic under a parent topic, I'm finding that after I edit the child topic it looses its parent. That is, I create a topic "EnergyScenario" under "MyWeb > Scenarios" and initially it's parent is indeed "Scenarios", but after editing EnergyScenario, it ends up under "MyWeb > EnergyScenario". So I then Set New Topic Parent for "EnergyScenario", but after futher editing, it looses its parent.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if there is something wrong in my setup.

Environment

Web server: httpd-2.0.54-10.3

this is a KnownIssuesOfTWiki04x00x00; you should upgrade to TWikiRelease04x00x02

Ok, so when I upgrade, all the pages are rendenered incorrectly. The top-bar (TWiki logo, Edit, Wysiwig) all appear at the very bottom of the page, the side bar as well. Its a mess!!

Even the formating of this site is screwed up. Is this a Firefox issue?? I've tried viewing this site on a number of Firefoxes on different machines.

Craig, there seems to be a css loading problem with Firefox and TWiki (which we havn't managed to work out - hit shift-refresh, and it goes away.

-- SvenDowideit - 07 Apr 2006

Doing a shift-refresh solved this problem for twiki.org, but not for my updated site.

Some further clues. On my updated site, if I click "EDIT", I do not get anything! WYSIWYG works. I tried updating PatternSkin, and changing the this in TwikiPreferences (TWIKILAYOUTURL, TWIKISTYLEURL), but this made little difference (in fact there was even less page formating).

Is there any way to just figure out which files changed between 4.0.0 and 4.0.2 and just change these?

I don't understand what is wrong, nor do I see how to figure out what is wrong, so I'm bloody annoyed.

For the hell of it, I also installed NatSkin to see if that would solve the problem. When I go to the NatSkinStyleBrowser, at the top of the page, I get:

%IFDEFINEDTHEN{""}% %FIDEFINED% %IFDEFINEDTHEN{"" action="view"}% %ELSIFDEFINED{""}% %FIDEFINED% %IFDEFINEDTHEN{""}% %ELSEDEFINED% %FIDEFINED%

with other similar things throughout the page, although the overall layout is correct.

Also, when I run the LatexMode_installer.pl, I get:

########################################################## Checking dependency on Digest::MD5.... AccessControlException: Access to CHANGE LatexSymbolList for TWikiGuest is denied. access not allowed on web

Which I simply don't understand the reasons for.

There are patch files on each of TWiki4.01 and TWiki4.02 topics to help bring it up to date.

The NatSkinPlugin macros only expand when the skin is set to Nat.

I don't know about your 3rd question.

-- MartinCleaver - 08 Apr 2006

Well, I broke down and did a manual upgrade. Things seem to be working, a part from XpTracker. For some reason, the new web isn't reading all my old tracking info. Not quite sure where XpTrackers is storing this, and thus unsure if I've copied everything over appropriately.

Ok, figured out what I did wrong..
