Question
We frequently have e-mails that go out with a link to a twiki page. The problem is that the e-mail is breaking the link into two lines (due to the length of the url). When the e-mail recipient clicks on the link they are prompted to enter their twiki user name and password. I have looked at other sites that seem to handle this problem well. How can I remedy this problem.

Use TinyURL.
There is a plugin available for FireFox that takes care of the conversion

Breaking apart long URLs is an Outlook "feature", most other mail clients leave long URLs alone. Ask your IT department to switch to a better mail client such as Thunderbird
See
ShorterUrlCookbook and
ShorterURLs.
