Specific issues:

I have experienced a problem with logging in where Firefox 2.0.0.8 will not login to the server. It just returns to the original screen. I have cleared browser cache and cookie to no avail. There is no such problem with Opera or IE7 or IE6. It was working at one point then overnight it stopped? v.strange

I have a problem with links to external files and folders which I have managed (I think) to narrow down to either TWiki or Apache but I don't know which.

I've already posted the problem under the following page ...

http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Support/FirefoxExternalFileLinksDontWork

... but in brief, I can open a link to a file or folder from within a test.html document running under Firefox and it works fine but the exact same link doesn't work in the TWiki page although in Internet Explorer, it works fine!

I'm using file://///SERVER/FOLDER or file://///SERVER/FOLDER/MY.EXE

Wysiwyg editor TinyMCEPlugin

The trailing space can be eated when you edit with TinyMCE in Firefox (tinyMCE is the default Wysiwyg editor of Twiki 4.2 or later). This is a "property" of Firefox. To fix this problem, change this:

  • Type "about:config" in the URL field of Firefox
  • Find the attribute "word_select.eat_space_to_next_word"
  • Double-click on it to change the string value to "false"
