Question
Hi,
It seems that all is running all right - the configure stage went through all right, I can register as a normal user, but when I try to add a New Topic (the browser gets a general HTTP 500 error message - and nothing is in the logs other than the access entries).
Note: the installation is on a
WebHosted space.

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
Registering as a normal user actually
does create a new topic: the user's topic in the Main web. So, if registration works but creating other topics doesn't, the most likely cause is a permission issue on the directory (or web) where you want to create the new topic.
As a first test, you can try to create a new topic in the Main web. If this works, a permission problem is the most probable reason. If, however, it doesn't work, then there might be a problem with one of the components which are required to edit and save a topic. You could try further narrowing by editing an
existing topic, e.g. your personal topic in Main, and trying to save.
The error logs would be more informative than the access log in any case, but I don't know whether your hoster allows access to these.

Here is what I tried now:
1. went to my user definition and clicked "Edit Personal Data" - the result is the same.
2. went to Main and tried: edit, attach, raw edit - practically everything that would create or change something returns with the same behavior.
Thanks,
