Question

I am trying to install TWiki for the first time to replace UseModWiki. I am eager about the degree of activity this program is receiving, which UseMod is lacking, but need to know about using CVS as the backend to store the files. I am wanting to switch my website's backend to CVS as much as possible, and having a Wiki that used it, too would be great. I read many of the posts here in Support about CVS, but they were all old (yr 2000) and said it was being worked on. Has it been finished? Is the CVS support in the latest stable or beta release? How do I activate it (since looking through the documentation for the stable release doesn't turn up anything about CVS). Thanks.

  • TWiki version: 20011201
  • Web server: Apache
  • Server OS: Debian GNU/Linux
  • Web browser: Mozilla 1.0.1
  • Client OS: Linux (Gentoo)

Answer

TWiki doesn't support CVS as a backend. If you are a reasonable Perl coder, this is not a bad project, but it would be worth discussing over in Codev first.

Thanks. I've asked for some tips on hacking it in over at Codev.
