Question

The drop down appears, but if I change the selection, it reverts back to whatever is was at the beginning. I thought I had it working at one point, but that might be my imagination...

I have extended the states, so I reverted to just open/closed, but that didn't cure it. Ive tried Firefox, Opera and IE & it's the same in all of them.

I take it I've mangled something in the installation, so I'm looking for pointers as to how I can track down what I've done.

Actually I'll modify that statement - I've completely reinstalled it & it just doesn't work. I assume it works on other installations, so I'm baffled as to why it won't work for us. I even used the debug function to disable all other plugins in case of a clash no joy.

Oddly the css doesn't chenge the colour to the "new" state, which persists on a refresh, but not if the topic is edited or selected by retyping the url - I guess that's the browser remembering something.

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

Found it! It's the use of SYSTEMWEB not TWIKIWEB - the documentation does say put settings in Main.WebPrefererences (?) but if you do it right & put it in TWikiPreferences then the path to the javascript routine is defined properly - but that for the CSS was always right...
