I made some minor changes, e.g. better to keep the SHORTDESCRIPTION short, not a "how to".

I'd like to maintain this plugin in Subversion, but after reading PluginsInSubversion, it was not clear to me if I really had to ask for checkin rights. Have I to do so?

Yes you need to if you want to use SVN.

The FundraisingPlugin page says this is tested on CairoRelease, but I get the following error after an unzip of the PluginPackage :
