The beginning of (my) comparison of desktop managers on Linux. (This first cut based on those available on Knoppix 3.2 by default.)

Up until now, I've pretty much used the kde desktop manager, only occasionally and briefly trying any others. Due to the problems I've had (sluggishness with many windows / tabs open), I'll try some others.

Basic approach:

TWM: Starts with a blank screen (or the default background), left click anywhere to get a menu, apparently no multiple desktops, no taskbar, klipper starts (not tested)
