/usr/doc: The place that most documentation will lie. This is especially important if you have installed the HOWTOs and MINI-HOWTOs these will be in:

  • /usr/doc/Linux-HOWTOs
  • and
  • /usr/doc/Linux-MINI-HOWTOs

(respectively) These might vary from distro to distro but I believe that is correct for Slackware.

See FHS#4_11_3_Specific_Options -- actually, the FHS calls for documentation to be placed in /usr/share/doc.
