I'd like to build (or have) a
TiVo for radio. (It's clearly not a new idea -- I read the stuff on slashdot today.) Just collecting some useful links.

- (rhk) MoviX -- this was suggested more for movies, but, since it can handle mp3 and ogg/vorbis, it should work for music as well.
MoviX is a tiny Linux CD distribution containing all the software to boot from a CD and play automatically every multimedia file localized in the CD root.
Supported formats are all formats supported by mplayer, most noticeably DivX but more in general any avi, mpeg, mp3, ogg/vorbis and a few others.
If you put a subtitles file in the CD root with the same name of a video file then the subtitles will be automatically displayed!
