Comments & Questions about this Distribution Document Topic

I used this feature in TWiki 4.0 and the result broke the program. All I wanted to do was change the name of "TWiki" to "Help" and it failed. I renamed the folders back to "TWiki" to get it working but now all my links are broken because they are referenceing the "Help" web. In addtion, any mention of the word "TWiki" got replaced with "Help" through-out all the text! Use at your own risk!

It is not sufficient to rename the TWiki web. The TWiki web also contains preferences settings. You need also reflect the changes in configure, {SystemWebName} setting.

Perhaps an expansion of this topic to describe the steps needed to successfully rename a Web is needed. I would try, but I am still too new to comfortably contribute.

The latest ManagingWebs in SVN has been updated with better info on renaming the system webs. Above text is included in the "more" page and needs to be short.

Rename is now disabled in the TWiki web and Main web.
