Question

Hi All, My question is more about 'Where should I look', I admit I digged in many docco'sources files, and get no idea where to start.

Environment. I deployed twiki-4.1, and the PatternSkin

The 'problem' descritpion. I have created a good deal of pages, basically a reference manual for a library I develop, I created the pages sequentially, one after the other, at the bottom of the page I have a [prev][next] link that allow browsing the pages like a book, and also the is a TOC on first page allowing direct page access.

The pages I created this way have a 'You are here' navigation thas is a good thing, but I don't understand the relation ship between the pages trail. I cut/paste here what I got for the 4th page of my ReferenceManual

You are here: TWiki > KtoolsWiki Web > LibP4 > LibP4RefMan > Libp4Toc > Libp4Print > Libp4Open > Libp4Coreread > Libp4Credit

From TWiki to Libp4Toc, this is OK. But from the Libp4Toc selecting the 4th link goes to Libp4Credit page and this Libp4Credit page shows this funny trail with all the pages between Libp4Toc to Libp4Credit.

You imagine what I got on the last page of my ReferenceManual.

The Question: Where should I orient my research understand how this YouAreHere is created, or managed.

Is it PatternSkin specific (then should I dig into PatternSkin) or is it a more general TWiki mechanism.

May I configure what goes inside YourAreHere?

Or is it the way I linked all the pages together with a [prev][next] link in each page.

Or is it the order of creation.

Or simply should I build myself a file system hierarchy, i.e all the pages under Libp4Toc, should be in a subdir?

Thanx in advance. Cheers, Phi

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

I found the trivial answer in the TWikiTip005. In fact I was 'vocabulary' ignorant, then I didnt knoew that this 'YouAreHere' list was called a 'breadcrumb'.

Doing a grep on all twiki files of my install with 'You are here' pattern showed some files that spoke about breadcrumb, then doing a grep on all files with 'breadcrumb' showed TWikiTip005.

Sorry for the dumb question. Cheers Phi
