Question
I am having a problem registering users from my intranet. When I register, and click "Submit" it hangs and freezes. My apache server-status says
Srv PID Acc M CPU SS Req Conn Child Slot Host VHost Request
.

What do I do? I haven't tried registering from the internet yet, but can you tell me what is wrong, and how I can fix this proben?
I (root) can't even register from my own localhost.
Thanx
After a while, I got forwarded to
http://192.168.0.4/twiki/bin//register/Main/WebHome
and it said:
.Software error:

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (
root@localhost), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

Answer
Hi,
You need to set the SMTPMAILHOST in
TWikiPreferences that you are sending email to - TWiki is picking up that Net::SMTP is loaded and using this rather than sendmail etc. This is also the cause of the delay, though users should be registered OK. You should be able to set this value to nothing ('Set SMTPMAILHOST = ') in order to force sendmail to be used - see the recently updated
TWiki installation guide.
Please see
SupportGuidelines as well - the error log in Apache may provide info on any other problems, e.g. permissions.
The
TWikiBetaRelease provides a more sensible error message for this.
