Question

The WindowsInstallCookbook advises the use of CygWin and the SYSTEM account. Is this account an administrator account everywhere? If so, has anyone tried changing the configuration to use a non-privileged account? Using an account with full permissions seems risky. Thanks.

Answer

There's no such advice, but the cookbook does say that administrator rights are required to install TWiki.

The only mention of the Apache userid is where it says: "Write down the Apache server's userid that is given by this script - typically either 'system' or 'administrator' - I'll assume 'system' from now on." If you can install Apache under some other non-administrator userid, TWiki and the cookbook installation should work equally well - I have a setup like this on Linux. Please document your experiences here and I'll update the cookbook.
