Question

  • TWiki version: Dec 2001
  • Perl version: Indigo (ModPerl?)
  • Web server & version: Indigo Apache 1...37
  • Server OS: Win2K
  • Web browser & version: IE6
  • Client OS: Win

For some webs I seem to only get a fictitious document 'k' when I run WebChanges and WebIndex. I am puzzled about this as I ran Statistics on some webs and the problem went away. Can you firstly tell me how these Searches actually work and secondly explain if there is a link to Statistics and finally how I can create a new web and have WebChanges and WebIndex work from the start. Thanks

Answer

This isn't a full answer, but just looking at the topics themselves (clicking edit and then canceling) you can see the searches that take place to create the output. Sounds like maybe a CPU load issue or something? It doesn't sound to me like the creation of new webs is a factor unless the old webs have lots and lots of pages they have to perform searches on.

The problem seems to have been the classic file permission problems. Now fixed. I have set the file permissions to 777 in desperation. Problem is this usually falls foul of teh Taint flag. Will add a bit if this does occur.
