Question

Hello helpful Peoples! HELP! I have been over and over this and I am stumped.. and feeling a bit ignorant! All I have to say is.. thanks for that Mark Twain quote!

My question basically is... should I even bother continuing (after a solid week of immersion) or just move on. You see, I'm really just looking for an editable table (like a whiteboard) for my webpage. After installing everything and not being able to get View to run, I'm thinking that I may just be chasing my tail... should I give up or is creating a table on my website plausible? Here's the deal... my configure link seems to be workable, although I do have 2 (now 4 ) errors:

Now, the next step should be go to "view" to start twiki'ing; but, I get this message when I attempt to execute... http://www.orangelab.org/cgi-bin/bin/view :

Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/bin/oops.pm/Main/WebHome was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.


Apache/1.3.34 Server at www.orangelab.org Port 80

I'm sure I'm just doing something silly; but I am completely blocked. Please advise!

view seems to be missing. What files are in your /bin directory? And do you have a file LocalLib.cfg in bin, and a file LocalSite.cfg in /lib? (files without txt extension)

Thanks for the quick response... I accidently placed a .txt at the end of my links.. changed them now. Thanks for your other advice, too. BTW, my view is in cgi-bin/bin/view; LocalLib.cfg is cgi-bin/bin/LocalLib.cfg; and LocalSite.cfg is in Cgi-bin/bin/lib.

Any thoughts?

Script files should have permission 755. The cgi-bin dir itself probably 711.
