Question

When a user registers to my twiki site, as of my knoledge an entry should be made into .htpasswd file. Which is not happening in my case. Can any one tell me why. My .htpasswd file is owned by nobody/nobody and has 777 permission. But my registration message say that it is successfull.

  • TWiki version:latest
  • Perl version:
  • Web server & version: apache
  • Server OS: linux
  • Web browser & version: netscape 4+
  • Client OS: linux

Answer

You will probably find an error message in the server error logs, or in the TWiki debug.txt or warning.txt logs - see SupportGuidelines for the details. Also, please check that your .htpasswd file is located in the TWiki data directory.

Are you using the correct registration form? You need to use the one that asks for a password twice.
