Question

Is it possible to set the template that will be used to create any topics under a particular topic?

For example, we have a Web called 'Customers'. I would like any topics created under the WebHome parent to have the template CustomerTemplate. But in the specific Customer topics, I want any topics created 'under' it to use the CustomerSiteTemplate.

I would like to be able to create links to sub-topics that have not been created yet, but I want to make sure that anyone who clicks on the '?' for those links will create the topics with the correct template.

Have you tried ChildTopicTemplatePlugin yet?

Hmmm. Did not see that Plugin. Thanks for pointing it out.

A quick glance at the Dev page for that Plugin, however, shows some apparently unresolved issues and the Plugin topic only seems to talk about WikiWord links.

I'll give it a try and see if it works for us.

Yes, the ChildTopicTemplatePlugin does what I want.

However, the latest version of this Plugin did not work with version 4.1.1, so I had to 'fix' it before we could use it.

See the ChildTopicTemplatePluginDev topic for details of the 'fix'.
