Question

Not really a question, but I need a sample topic to illustrate that including files from KeepAlive On servers take forever. See KeepAliveTimesOutWithIncludes.

This page contains this:

%INCLUDE{"http://demo.capmon.dk/~pvm/ost.txt"}%

But here on twiki.org I get this error: ERROR: TWiki::Net::getUrl connect: Connection refused. GET /~pvm/ost.txt HTTP/1.1 Host: demo.capmon.dk

I'm pretty sure anyone can access http://demo.capmon.dk/~pvm/ost.txt, so I don't know whats up here.. Anyway, if you put in an include for a page from a server running with KeepAlive On, like:

%INCLUDE{"http://demo.capmon.dk/~pvm/ost.txt"}%

it will take KeepAliveTimeout 15 seconds to timeout before rendering the page. (demo.capmon.dk is configured with KeepAlive On)

Failed to include URL http://demo.capmon.dk/~pvm/ost.txt Can't connect to demo.capmon.dk:80 (Bad hostname)

Answer

Something in SourceForge's hosting setup disables file includes on twiki.org. So this example will work on other sites, but not here.
