Hi All,
First of all my experience to set the tone of this post, I am a network security engineer (firewalls, proxys etc...) with little to no knowledge linux based web admin. There I have laid myself at your mercy... please be gentle
I am attempting to install twiki firstly into a lab environment to use as a repository for my network security/firewall knowledge base
I installed
CentOS 7 in VMware and followed this link to set up twiki:
https://www.rosehosting.com/blog/install-twiki-on-a-centos-7-vps/
Every command seemed to work ok, both my lab server and test machine are on the same subnet to keep it simple, but when I try to browse to:
http://10.193.0.3/twiki/bin/configure
i get a connection timeout.
A TCPDUMP showed the SYN packet arriving on the server but i get no response
Please Help
Regards,
Dan

Discussion and Answer
- Check if apache is enabled and running.
- Check the apache error logs.
- Check the selinux settings.
- Check the firewall settings for port 80.
I do not recommend using the TWiki on VMware setup instructions in the link you provided. This looks vulnerable to exploits. The TWiki root should never be put into an apache html doc enabled directory. I recommend to
DownloadTWikiVM, it is a ready made VM build that is secure.
