I recently upgraded to v5.0.1 (from 4.1.2) and now email notifications now do not reach their destinations. Nothing else has changed (web browser, mail set up etc) If I run mailnotify from a terminal it eems to work fine, all the expected details are there and there are no errors, but the emails no longer get to their destination
I am using sendmail, and the mail logs have the sent messages listed with (to my unexpert eye) no errors. Sending sendmail messages from the terminal works as normal, so it seems to be twili issue.
Everything else works fine, but I will have to revert to v4, if I can't get this to work so any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Ernie

Discussion and Answer
Likely a mail configuration issue in TWiki. If
{SMTP}{MAILHOST}
is set, TWiki sends mail via
CPAN:Net::SMTP module. Else it sends it via
{MailProgram}
. If MAILHOST is set check the other settings
{SMTP}{SENDERHOST}
(typically not required),
{SMTP}{Username}
and
{SMTP}{Password}
(sometimes required).

Thanks for prompt reply. {MAILHOST} was not set, so I set it - and SMTP transfer works OK. This solves the problem for me, but leaves the question of a possible bug in the sendmail part of mailnotify
