Discussion and Answer

I moved this support question from the Codev web to here.

You do not need mod_perl_startup.pl script, you can disable it in the TWiki Apache configuration. Run ApacheConfigGenerator.

Hi Peter,

When i disabled a mod_perl_startup.pl from apache configuration Apache restarted and things seems good...But when i trying to open /twiki/bin/view and /twiki/bin/configuration i got a forbidden error and shows that you are not permitted to view this page... What can i do for that ...

Apache config issue. Make sure permissions are set to executable of the configure script.

Hi peter,

I given .htaccess files under bin pub and twiki root.I given apache user and groups for whole twiki folder..

Enabled .htpasswd under data directory.Changed Localsite.cfg's user and group as apache. Till now facing same problem.

Changed /var/www/html and /etc/httpd/conf group and user as apache...Till face the same problem...

Don't use local .htaccess files. I suggest to install TWiki step-by-step according to TWikiInstallationGuide and to use the the ApacheConfigGenerator.

-- PeterThoeny - 2010-07-20

I'm using twiki.conf generated from ApacheConfigGenerator only.I placed the file under /etc/httpd/conf.d.But still i'm not able to view the page..

Please help me i struggle lot here ...

Those messages are simply from an Apache restart.

It's hard to help without more details. I suggest to ask a sysadmin in your organization to help out. See also AdminSkillsAssumptions.
