Question

Hi,

I am trying to setup Twiki on a Windows box and followed all the instructions to the T. I am now trying to download the zip version of the latest release and after I download it on my local machine and open it, Winzip opens up and says 'Cannot open file. Does not seem to be a valid archive'. I am currently stuck here.

Thanks VJ

Environment

TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Windows XP
Web server: Apache 1.3.x
Perl version:
Client OS:

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

It looks like you have an incomplete download. Possibly caused by a caching issue on your browser or proxy server. Try to clear the browser cache; try to download from a different network & computer.

I even saved the zip file and tried unzip filename from cygwin but cygwin gave a similar sounding message saying that the archive is not valid. I even went several releases back and tried to download the zip version but I encountered the same problems. So is there something that I am not doing right?

I also tried it from a different computer but have the same problem?

Don't know if this will help someone but it was an IE7 issue. I was able to download it successfully with a different browser!

I am having the same issue. I have tried the zip file and the gz file. The zip file gives me an error. I do not understand the contents of teh gz file. The one file is called "TWiki-4.1.1". Is is it supposed to be an "exe" file?

-- TimDevereaux - 26 Feb 2007

TWiki-4.1.1.tgz is an archive, it contains all source code files, doc files, template and configuration files. On .tgz format, see Wikipedia:Gzip. The .zip and .tgz files have identical content, it is just a different way of packaging files.
