Question
I have read the Twiki support information concerning headers and logos, customizing skins, and the header homepage supplement. However, I cannot seem to modify the original header image to our comany's. I am definitely a twiki newbie, and I really do not have experience with any kind of programming, html or anything that might give me an insight to how this might work. I am just reading along and trying to configure the header.
First I tried uploading the gif. that I want as my logo and header to the Web Preferences page, which is what was instructed on the customizing skins topic as an attachment. After doing so I tried understanding the Set commands eg: WEBLOGOIMG; WEBLOGOURL. It seems as though WEBLOGOURL=/p/pub/BASEWEB%/WebHome is preset to Twiki's logo. I tried copying and pasting it to the webpreferences topic, to which the gif file is presently attached. When this didn't work I tried modifying the logo and header by filing in these set commands with the attachment's file name: companylogo.gif. What am I doing wrong? Am I to copy and paste the Set commands on the customizing topic sheets as they are? If not how can I type in a valid path to the image I want as my header and logo without hosting it on a website? I have no idea how to ftp.
twiki version VMDebian
I thank you in advance for your guidance.

Overload the setting in your
Main.TWikiPreferences topic. Example:
* Overloaded system wide [[%TWIKIWEB%.TWikiPreferences]]:
* Set FAVICON = /favicon.ico
* Set WIKILOGOIMG = %PUBURL%/Main/TWikiPreferences/intranet-logo.gif
* Set WIKILOGOURL = %SCRIPTURL{view}%/%MAINWEB%/%HOMETOPIC%
* Set WIKILOGOALT = Example company Intranet Home

Peter,
I have been attempting the same with our own logo. I uploaded the logo to our web preferences page (twiki/bin/view/WebSelling/WebPreferences) and changed the vars above as follows
* #Set WEBLOGOIMG = %PUBURL%/WebSelling/WebPreferences/ccd-logo.jpg
* #Set WEBLOGOURL = %SCRIPTURL{view}%/%MAINWEB%/%HOMETOPIC%
* #Set WEBLOGOALT = CCDirect WebSelling
The only thing which happened is that the TWiki graphic disappeared, and the "Powered by TWiki" link stayed (as linked to twiki.org). What am I doing incorrectly? This is the Windows RC2 install of TWiki.
Thank you!

You can find instructions in
PatternSkinCustomization.

Alexandra, did you actually enable these settings (by removing
#
)?

The
#
commented out settings are likely the cause.
