Question

Hi,

I am currently trying to install TWiki 4.0 on my account in the university. I have actually finished installing it. I am just trying to change some configuration, such as authentications, preferences, register users, groups, etc. In other words, TWiki is already running and all. However, it's a bit weird that it randomly gives me this error.

When I say randomly, it happens occasionally. Last night, it gave me this error when I tried registering myself. Then, this morning, it just worked. When I'm at the stage of editing web preferences, it gave me the same error. Then I restarted my browser and waited few minutes. Then it worked again.

You might say that it's the problem with the school's webserver. But the computing support guys have been using an older version of TWiki and there's tons of other student's pages running other Wiki software on the same cgi and apache version. So this might be a bug with TWiki 4.0? Or the way I am installing it?

I have asked this question to the system support guys (who installed the old TWiki) and they refer me back here.

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

Unless you can reproduce the problem it's really hard for anyone to give debugging advice.....
