Question

I have added my email id to the notifications list and trying to get mail when there is a change on our twiki web. This was working earlier and all of a sudden stopped working and there is no clue for the failure. I have a web called XYZ on my twiki and the .mailnotify file in the folder is owned by user nobody. I have hosted this on a solaris machine and tring to run the mailnotify script as a root. The script compiles , but no mails being sent to my email id. The registration mailing is working fine but not mailnotify. Could you please guide me where to look for the error messages an what is wrong with the permissions setup. I also tried changing the permission of .mailnotify to root. But no help.

Thanks in advance.

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

Check that there really are changes in your web that you would expect notification for. Run the mail notification script in verbose mode to see what it does. What makes you think you have permissions problems?

Thanks for the reply. The mail server was changed and I had to change in configure to get mailnotify working.
