Question

TWiki calls itself a Collaboration Platform.
I think this is quite right: it is a really good plattform to communicate and share information within a company/intranet. Thus you can spend a lot of mails no more necessary to be sent.

But what about mails to externals. Is there any way (plugin?) to integrate mail-communication with external partners?

E.g. Company-internal work is done by modifying one or more topics. In these topics, mail-communication with external shall also be included. That would be quite easy if a mail could be sent out of TWiki and the customer rely would be automatically added to the relevante topic.

That would be something like a Trouble Ticket System.

The MailInContrib might offer what you need.
