Question

I tried saving a topic that contains:

ÉlectricCat however it is not recognized as a WikiWord. I tried putting it in brackets ... but when I clicked on it to save the topic, the accented E was disfigured.

What do I need to do to get this to work?

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

Please provide your TWiki.cfg and output of configure as mentioned in SupportGuidelines. Probably your locale setup is not working - configure should be able to tell you more under Localisation.

Since you are on a Windows server, your locale setup needs changing since locales never work on Windows under Perl - this troubleshooting section has details (note that it was written for an earlier release so some parameter names may have changed, and you need to use configure to set things up rather than editing TWiki.cfg or LocalSite.cfg directly).

No further feedback from questioner for over a month, so I'm closing this.
