Question

I've recently started to receive the 'Internal Server Error' on saving a page after edit. When I look at the error log (on a hosted account), I can see the line 'File does not exist: /home/domainnamehere/public_html/pub/Main/TWikiPreferences'

This line is appearing after every visit and update to the site, however the Internal Error only appears in the browser on some pages when saving. When it does happen, the error page appears instantly on clicking save. Once the error has happened the page cannot be edited again but can be viewed (however the comments plugin still publishes to the page).

I looked at the text on the pages causing the issues and there is no common pattern I can see.

This is a hosted site and has had no problems for almost 1 year. The host had a recent disk problem and the site was restored - could something have been missed?

Thanks for any help to resolve this.

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

As usually the case, after posting it has been resolved. I was 'triggering a mod_security rule' that has now been disables and the pages in question can be saved.
