Question

It appears that $installWeb is not available to initializeUserHandler. The only argument passed to it is $theLoginName. From the looks of registerPlugin, the laborious "let's try to guess where the plugin topic is located" process has already been done before early init plugins are called, and I have no wish to duplicate it.

Is there some reason why initializeUserHandler couldn't be passed additional arguments, such as $installWeb? If not, could that perhaps be added to the next TWiki release (I'm using the May 7 beta)? The purpose is to implement the changes suggested in LoginNameAliasesPluginDev.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiBetaRelease2004x05x07
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Redhat Linux 9
Web server: Apache 1.3.x
Perl version: 5.6.1
Client OS: Redhat Linux
Web Browser: Firefox
