Question

If I understand correctly, all twiki pages are stored as text files in the file system.

If this is the case, can twiki as a personal document management system be integrated for search with strigi, beagle, or the other desktop search engine coming to Linux these days?

Thanks, Marco

Yes, you can point the search engine to the twiki/data directory to index the text files. You need to tell the search engine how to map an indexed file from the file system its URL equivalent. Same for attachemnts located in twiki/pub.

Yes, but (sorry if I wasn't clear enough) can the strigi interface also be integrated in twiki, replace its default search function if requested, have the same look and feel...

I can't help you out with specifics, this is the first time I read about strigi. You can easily change TWiki's search box action to a different search engine. See also other Extensions:search.
