Question
We had a 2-year-old copy of Twiki; we want to import the (only) local web we had in that into the latest version. We copied the directory into the new data/ directory but... what's the recommended way to "hook this up" to the TWiki Site Map on the
Main page?
(i.e. we can reach
http://cfcl.com/Meta/twiki/bin/view/Meta/ with ease but how do we connect that to the Site Map list on
http://cfcl.com/Meta/twiki/bin/view/Main? Just edit the Main page? Or is there a more "proper" way to handle things?)
- TWiki version: 20030201
- Perl version: 5.6.1
- Web server & version: Apache 1.3.27
- Server OS: FreeBSD 4.7
- Web browser & version: Safari Beta 2 or IE 5
- Client OS: Mac OS X

Answer
Tweak the
WebPreferences page of your old web to bring it up to the latest settings. That will list your web in your
SiteMap

Almost there...
Okay... that got it into the Sitemap. But the 'old" web doesn't understand any of
Users? | Groups? | Offices? | Changes? | Index? | WebTopicEditTemplate? | TWikiPreferences?
How do I bring it fully up to date with the existence and location of these site-wide pages?

It looks like you copied the Main web from your old installation. Users should only exist in the Main web of your new installation.
The WEBTOPICLIST setting in the WebPreferences sets the links you see on top.

>It looks like you copied the Main web ...
Actually, I copied the WEBTOPICLIST
from the Main Web Preferences in the
new installation. I misunderstood the extent to which I should "Tweak the WebPreferences page" of my copied web...
>Users should only exist in the Main web
I figured that out. However, shouldn't Changes and TWikiPreferences exist from anyweb?

Oh, I see. I suggest to take the
WebPreferences from the _default web, it has the Changes, Index and
GoBox.
