Question

Hi,

I'd like to know how to show one of the old revisions rather than the newest one since sometimes I find that the newest is not correct or applicable. For example, there're such revisions:

r9>r8>r7....>r1. It's I who create this topic but r9 is edited by another person. I found r9 is not a good one. So I want to display r8 and even delete r9.

How can I do that in Twiki?

Thanks, Erming PEI

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

  1. The easiest way is to copy the text from the raw view of r8 and paste it as the current version :-). See RevertToPreviousRevision.
  2. That same document says, "An administrator can also roll back a revision. This should be used with care and must not be abused or users would lose the trust in the system. See specifics at the end of the twiki/lib/TWiki.cfg file". I'm curious how to do that too, but that's an old posting and that file doesn't seem to exist any more.
  3. If this is a frequent occurrence or business requirement, you might want to review the various workflow plugins. I haven't tried the specific ones myself, but workflow usually involves an approval process on content before it is widely accessible.
