Question

How do I recover old versions?

I know one of the powerful features of TWiki is that you can recover old versions of a topic. This is given by the underlying RCS support. I tried the | r1.5 | > | r1.4 | > | r1.3 | > | etc... buttons at the bottom of the page and they work well. But how do I recover the older version? Say for instance that I edit version 1.3, make some changes and save version 1.4. Later, I decide to undo those changes and go back to version 1.3. Should I do it manually from the line command using the ci/co RCS commands?

General comments aboud TWiki:

  • TWiki is great!!! I setup my wiki with very little effort. I had some problems with registration, but I think that this was due in part to the AuthenticatedRegistrationBug and also some misconfiguration in the permissions of the files. But now all seems working well. My wiki is at http://minerva.arcride.edu.ar/wiki
  • It would be great to have some way to change user account (a login/logout mechanism).

  • TWiki version: TWiki01Dec2000
  • Web server: Apache
  • Server OS: GNU/Linux RH 7.1

Answer

There is an "undoumented" web based command for admins. Read the end of the TWiki.cfg file.
