Answer

In most cases, ISP hosted sites do not allow you to change the owner of a file to nobody - you have to request that they do it for you, which is pain. However, many have cgiwrap or suexec or something similar which allows scripts to run as your username - thereby getting around the whole issue. Sometimes you have to ask them to turn it on for a particular directory, or in the case of my hosting service (Dreamhost), they have it set up by default for all directories.

If this doesn't make much sense, don't worry about it. Just ask your hosting service about cgiwrap or suexec. It makes working with TWiki much easier.

If you'd like to see some related discussions here on twiki.org, you might look through SecureSetup, ExecutingCommandsAsNobody, TWikiOnWebHostingSites.
