Question

I have migrated one of our TWiki's from 01-Dec-2001 to the latest version of TWiki and I am having issue with the "Hierarchical web" causing problems with a significant number of our topics name that contain dots (i.e. Web2.0Myths being translated into Web2/0Myths).

I have disabled the {EnableHierarchicalWebs} in configure, however, the translation issue is still occurring.

Is there any way to correct this issue? (Other than renaming everything an updating all links).

Environment

TWiki version: unspecified
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Solaris10
Web server: Apache/2.2.3
Perl version: 5.8
Client OS: N/A
Web Browser:
Categories: Installation, Missing functionality

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

This is an unfortunate change in behavior due to hierarchical web support. Actually, in old versions it was documented that Web.TopicName would link to topic "TopicName" in web "Web".

You could use the GlobalReplacePlugin to fix the links.
