Question

This is probably a very simple question, so please forgive my ignorance. I've searched the site, but haven't been able to find an answer.

I've noticed both on the twiki.org sandbox area and on a private install of the 01-Sep-2004 release that when I create a new topic it becomes version 1.1, just as I'd expect. But, when I go back and edit it, the revision remains at 1.1 and looking at the topic history gives the impression that the edited version was the original.

What do I need to do to "commit" a revision to rcs? I would have thought it would be automatic, but apparently I'm missing something.

Thanks for your help.

Answer

By default TWiki locks the pages for 60 minutes, and it also aggregates all the changes made during those 60 minutes in a single revision. There is a page explaining this behavior in the FAQ: EditDoesNotIncreaseTheRevision . You might want to read the TWikiFAQ .
