Question
Hello,
Is it possible to enable the french character set (é, è,à etc.) in
WikiWord with TWiki release 01-Feb-2003. So yes how?
I did this with TWiki release 01-Sep-2004 but not with Twiki release 01-Feb-2003
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.

Answer
I doubt it: at least, not without retrofitting some code. Why do you want to?

Martin: Because it is a site for users speaking French.
Mamadi: It sould work also to some degree with
TWikiRelease01Feb2003. See
TWikiInstallationGuide. Read also the doc in your
twiki/lib/TWiki.cfg
.
See also
InternationalisationEnhancements.

TWikiRelease01Feb2003 definitely works for internationalisation of
WikiWords, but it does require that IE and Opera users change their browser settings in order to support
I18N characters (e.g. é). The details of this browser setup are mentioned at
InternationalisationEnhancements. This restriction is removed in the 01 Sep 2004 release, so you are strongly recommended to upgrade if at all possible, preferably to the latest
TWikiBetaRelease which fixes some
I18N bugs.
If the browser setup doesn't help, please attach your
TWiki.cfg
file and the HTML output of
testenv
(preferably the latest testenv, downloadable from
SVNget:bin/testenv) to this page, and supply the information mentioned in
SupportGuidelines.
